College Mentors for Kids, Inc., offers a unique and rewarding experience for college students to impact the life of a child and serve their community.
College Mentors for Kids is a mentoring and college-access program with chapters at 23 colleges and universities across Indiana, Illinois and Ohio.
Working with elementary school students:
Children from a local elementary school will come to your campus once a week during the academic year for a two-hour activity. You will be matched one-on-one with a child (little buddy).
Working with middle school students:
You will be paired with 5 middle school students. Activities will take place at the middle school once a week during the academic year for a two-hour activity.
Becoming a college mentor involves:
- extensive screening
- application and interview process
- criminal background check
- sex offender registry check
If selected:
- one-day training seminar
- one academic year committment
* Mentors are selected based on their level of maturity, flexibility, and commitment.
